New Archway Sculpture Welcomed at Troll’s Knoll
Friends of Troll’s Knoll is excited to announce the installation of local Artist Kim David Hall’s archway sculpture at the entrance of Troll’s Knoll Forest. The idea for the arch was generated by members of the community and Friends of Troll’s Knoll. The beautiful woven metal archway provides a wonderful welcome and encourages visits to the rest of the eastside forest of more than 100 trees.
Friends of Troll’s Knoll Board member Norma Baum spearheaded the effort to select art that welcomes people to the forest. She noticed that people seemed unsure if they should come up the pathway to the site.
The Fremont Chamber of Commerce funded the project through a neighborhood economic recovery grant.
Seattle-based artist Kim David Hall is well-known as an engineer, problem-solver, inventor, and legendary maker of cool stuff. He has been commissioned for public artworks both nationally and internationally. His work can be found locally in Seattle, Burien and Bellingham.
